Significance of Content in Web Design
Words can make and unmake a thing. Words express thoughts, ideas and are an integral part of communication. In the web world, the content is one of the most important elements apart from web design, flash which contribute to effective communication between the website owners and the web users.
In the early days of Web, most of the websites were static in nature. With the growth and advancement of technology, dynamic websites came up in the web market. Graphics have become an important aspect of website design.
Use of too many graphics is the buzz surrounding the web arena. are used increasingly in web designs in recent times. It is common belief that websites that are visually appealing are able to entice the web users. Flash Design and fancy imagery have a telling effect on the eyes of the visitors. However, excessive usage of graphics has led to many disadvantages
Long loading time – Heavy graphics takes a long time to load a web page. The visitors to the site can turn to other site due to long loading time.
Graphics are not user friendly – Continuous flash images can be interesting at the first glimpse but gets tiring with gradual process of time. Again, visitors can turn to other sites if there is no sufficient information to satisfy their queries.
It is not seo friendly –A search engine uses a search tool called a "spider" or “robots” can’t view but read web pages. These spiders, however, fail to read images and the content in it, if any. Web designs with too many flash images is sure to be ranked poorly in the SERPs results due to non readability of the search engine spiders.
Writing quality content is an art and is highly respectable in the cyber world. A content designer, unlike a web designer, writes the copy for websites and places that copy in its most beneficial position.
In web marketing, it is important to have unique and fresh contents. Compelling contents invite more traffic and clearly demarcates it position from its competitors. The contents of a website must provide with definite information. This invariably means that the contents must clearly define the customer’s need and desire other than speaking about the product or service.
